Course Description: As climate change continues to affect weather conditions around the globe, so-called “acts of God” have become more of a priority for legislatures, stockholders, and other organizations. Similarly, with the financial impact and loss of life increasing from these devastating events, insurers, policyholders, and insurance agents alike are racing to find solutions to overcome this daunting challenge. But what are “acts of God” in the insurance industry? How are they related to and different from other kinds of disasters? And what can be done to mitigate the effects of them? These and other questions will be answered in this intriguing overview of insurance contracts.
